small silk scarf

In some cultures symbolizes sanctity, character, modesty and religious attire. Fashionistas consider it as luxury and keep it in jewelery box. Lot of people wouldn’t borrow it to their best friend because there is story that is keeper of your personality and scent.
Even the simple outfit can be improved with neatly picked scarf. Since we lately love lot of long scarves, leopard print, McQueen’s skulls, Etro’s royalty bohemian rhapsody, seems that we forgot about Riviera chic; small silk scarf.
The distinction of the silk scarf is really in its size, so classic Hermès measures 90cm and weighs only 65 grams. Geometry on the side, small silk scarf really turns out that luxurious effect to make mystique diva of the girl. Since Hermès carré is nobility among the scarves, some believe that girl didn’t make in her life as long as she doesn’t own her own carre; picked in Hermes Paris. So you can touch it and feel it or smell it just like Vogue’s paper. Some are paraphrasing same story about Pucci cognizable prints on small piece of fabric.
What is common to scarves of Hermès, Pucci, Lacroix, Versace, Casol or Ferragamo is their uniqueness. Whether the story on the fabric or memories and moments you will create wearing the same fabric.
Some people frame their Hermes scarf like fait du art or sleep on it instead of pillow .I believe in more creative ways. Tres chic as headband, belt or enveloped around straps of your top or like a bow on the back, isn’t it?
When I was looking for scarves online I must admit I am amazed by vintage 80s collection from nastygal. Also I found some alternative but still beautiful buys on the budget.

p.s. scarf is like a final touch of the outfit, like a fragrance so it’s not the sin to spray a few drops of your personality on it. Never know where you might leave it. Unless you wear Hermès. In that case pay attention.

little clubbing dress is sequined

My thought of hot summer twilight used to be glass of Veuve Clicquot and Grecian nude dress with straps. This summer I am all about city and sparkling. I mean even my favorite couturier of Grecian after Kokosalaki, Alberta Ferretti is all about glitter this summer.
Since Sequined dresses are and were one of the major trends, they are available for small amounts in cheap retailer stores or on the high street in high prices
The story was great; yes they offered us lots of heavy sequins, sleeveless A cuts, even short sleeves. And then God send us Decarnin and Balmain. And we saw at Balmain that they were fooling us. The sequin dress doesn’t have to be heavy, and its purpose is not to be the public mirror.

Balmain dress available for preorder at Mrs H
Purpose is more to be sexy and to look bit wet. And certainly not spreading the street-light effect. Believe me, I tried a lot of sequin dresses out there and I realized the cut has to be perfect. Mini dresses with long sleeves and light sequins are favorable. Heavy sequins on sleeveless dresses hardly look good even on 0 size girls but if choosing heavy one rather go for bodycon. Remember that Kate Moss dress for top shop? Concept of dress was adorable but who was suppose to wear it? Dress weights more than regular girl.
Since our designers realized that on beginning of the year you will need to wait for fall expansion of mini sequin dresses in the stores. Jen Kao, Stella McCartney, Gucci, Alexander Wang, Gucci, Macqua, Twenty8Twelve; all presenting us douce small sequin dresses with perfect cut.

Great alternative for sparkly, glossy look are dresses made of metallic, polyester or lamé. Good choice for non sequin type of girls that want to be sparkly and glossy sometimes, can be simple white T tank dress with heavier scarf made of lamé or sequins. Also wearable daily on white tee. And tell me what is better than to own soft sequined jacket and wear it on white tee, jeans and ponytail
Please don’t let them fool you with heavy sequins; and don’t fall for the sales.

I managed to find this Vicky Martin dress that looks soft, in two colors through stylefinder
lamé dresses from
American Apparel, Les Chiffoniers sequin spray jacket on netaporter
Suede booties, particulary wedges and nude legs match perfectly with small sequin dress. I am sure Daria Werbovy knew that when she wore them at Met with Balmain dress

I am head over heels for Prada Wedge suede boots, Bergdorf, though I wouldn't mind to have Alaia's wedges from Matches

Leopard print

There where times when we used to connect leopard prints with Vegas or matched with the cross on the chain in Sopranos vision of mistress. And last years first we started with printed leopard scarves and then we end up wrapped all in leo’s print. How rapid we can transform our opinions...That's why I am not ever judging on someone’s taste.
Maybe leopard pandemia started in September with when we were applauding Albert Elbaz on one shoulder dress wore by Sessilee Lopez on Lanvin's printemps/ete show or models in backstage that were matching leopard in rock & edgy manner. We absolutely adore Lily Donalson as one of the initiators of animal rock prints. Chanel Iman wore leopard dress on Met's MaM and we found her very irresistible.
If you didn't heart leopard print by now its time to start your wildness affection because it is very companion of effortless look and can be very valuable even in those days when you are not in dressing mood. It s not so common so gives you a clean look, even color leopard print works for the days of bad hair.

Simply it goes with everything; Cardigans are very wearable with pants, those classic black pair of skinnies or 80s high-waisted. Or simple nonchalant just over simple tunic dress, and leo print tops even with colors will match great your high waisted skirts.

in evening version one needs to be very careful when takes dress with leopard print, cause its kind of trend that can look shameful or refined. No middle path. I think shoes are the key to the image;as long as you keep them double platforms or booties or everything little urban look like, there’s no place for mistake.

Something borrowed, something blue, and something new; A Blushless Dress

I remember the statement that Slavka, my second mum and among the others, the person that most influenced my life in fashion, used to repeat to me;"I don't want to hear from you, you'll get married, even once, and you can divorce two days later. I don't care." Laughing and waving with scissors in my hand, in one of those breaks of converting her laced leather jacket into the clutch bag on her couch, I talked back to her; No S, I don’t want to be debutante divorcee, actually I want to be a runaway bride.
Years after, since Vera Wang didn’t sense my desire to cotton on my wish of a gown paired with laced converse, I’ve decided not to run. I cannot wear Nike Airs. No! I just can’t. So I decided I’ll get married one day.
For a girl that only hunted to have husband when she saw Stephanie Seymour in November Rain, and as rebellious teenager was identifying wedding dresses with Madonna’s Like A Virgin uniform, I can sometimes be pretty dangerously critical about weddings and all of its features. And I used to say that I feel guilty because I am not one of those girls but at the end thoughts about the dress make me one of those girls. Are you with me?
World, spinning fast, every now and then can be harsh and beyond we are independent, we are all souls with passion to love and be loved. And you don’t get married with anyone so you don’t want either end up wearing anything; you want to be sexy, sophisticated and refined but beyond it fragile. And there is just one tiny hitch; you do like sweets but Christ you don’t want to look like a cupcake on the day in your life when you are supposed to look like goddess. But everything out there gives you itches even when you think of the wedding dress.
That is when I spotted blushless dresses and I thought; Wow, maybe one day I’ll get married, and I really meant that.Girl behind blushless, really turns independent girl into the princess; that is rebellious but amoreuose in the same time. Since I like to dig behind the scene, I found very interesting story. So may be that the reason of designing avant-garde wedding dresses for modern brides are some of her New York friends' weddings? You know; those people we really adore; all really cool, independent, rocking ladies and gentlemen, musicians or artists. Or the reason was that there are not many choices to choose from for creative and independent girls like her?
Whatever the reason is, girl behind blushless is genuine visionaire, because Liv got to distinguish that world was missing something. I was a bit suprised that someone has her own fashion line at the age of 25, but Liv gave me respond like a true fashion diplomat;
"25 is not that young to start a business, I guess...and you have to be still crazy to do it. Alex Wang had great support from his family. Two relatives managed his label from the beginning in a professional way."
Curious as I am I was same about the word blushless and she clarifies; "Blushless means shameless, but sounds better! I was looking for a sexy word with a strong meaning!Especially when it comes to weddings, women often feel pressure to fit in this stereotyped old fashioned bridal-princess model, I wanted to say: be blushless; don’t be ashamed of being yourself; be daring, be different, be you!"
Don’t you already adore her? She makes me want to start calling her The Great Wang of the wedding dresses.

New blushless collection found its inspiration in Wild At Heart, movie by David Lynch, and all of her lovely wild girls. Fashion is not all about clothes, so in general what inspires her are mostly people and the stories behind them; life in general, big cities and strong women.
Designer itself told me when it comes to role models she hearts few of them; Martin Margiela, clever Stella McCartney, glamorous Viktor & Rolf, Rebel like Vivienne Westwood and arty and fabulous fashion design like ThreeAsFour.
Yet Blushless is a young label (she is still looking for a business partner), Liv has a vision and feels the moment in time. In this design of not ordinary wedding dresses, there is a great amount of the touch for the societal order and still she is able to keep the beauty of what wedding dress it should be; lovely and one of the kind.
p.s. Find out more about the world of avant-garde wedding dresses on blushless and on Liv’s blog
p.i.s.s. When it comes to fashion carry on with picking vintage, but when it comes to love pick only haute. And no matter what will you choose first, dress or husband, they both have to be haute. And they both need to match your personality. That is what blushless is all about; Keeping your personality. And no doubt Liv is gifted to do that.
