How to rock the floral dress?

Last year florals on Michael Kors and Stella made me fall in love with gardening. And I got two floral dresses; one bought in vintage shop and the other provided by my grandmother. This autumn I convinced myself I won’t be influenced with floral no matter how botanical spring runaway will be. And it was. So again I bought myself two floral dresses; both short sleeved and bit bodycon. I even got floral leggings from second hand shop. In that period I was a bit influenced with Alicia Silverstone in Aerosmith videos; prints and floral à la rock. And just when I caught myself ready to operate again through my grandma’s closet, I’ve run on article by some fashion theoretic saying she wants to puke from all those chic editors, fashion journalists in floral dresses and fashionistas wearing baggy clothes and looking like they replaced their closets with those from their grandmothers.
I was a bit unpleasantly surprised. Do we sometimes look like that?
Is it that bad that we love vintage clothes? I mean loving grandma’s clothes beneath its fashion sense, signifies you are connected with your heritage. Oh mine; I don’t see sin in that. If we wear floral dresses we won’t be grannies like our therapist from above stated. We are inspired by them but we are living according our time. And we do rock vintage clothes.

Muveil sleeveless floral dress available at opening ceremony , Puff Iris Dress from topshop , floral bodycon for moms topshop maternity
And to survive hot days I like to remain my rock spirit. In light spring evenings I'll wear floral dresses on massive boots like those refined heel version Dr. Martens darcie. Finally we have a heel on icon shoes. If I am wearing it daily I’ll be most likely to pair it with casual sneakers in grey and cool chain necklace, lovely for having lemonade and chilling in some park.
We fashionistas are rock childs in our souls.
p.s. I don’t know why some people still refer image of vintage or second hand clothes with unattractiveness. Aren’t they aware that fashion has its circles.
p.i.s.s If you have grandmother I encourage you to peak at her closet from time to time. She’ll be glad you like her clothes. Just don’t get too carried away, she still needs to wear something since she probably doesn’t shop as often as you do.

Chanel 2010 resort collection; Review

If Karl Lagerfeld is determined that Madame Vionnet has a major impact on today's fashion I am supportive but determined in opinion he is today's Vionnet. I saw resort 2010 collection. Venice. True elegance and effortless in order to give very vivid vibe of woman from front page of old memoir. Venice is practical factor to be just right place to prove collection. Coco designed simple clothes and sometimes the reason was that simple in order to give a woman the comfort that takes to climb easier in and out of gondola. He really did bring us back to basis of Chanel; bell-bottom trousers, gold buttons, the blazer, stripes, tweed suit. Sailor boxy cardigan jacket with round neck really looks like Chanel is still alive and borrows it from her amorous Etienne Balsan. But we will wear it on trousers; with boyish wavy bobbed hair. Like real flappers of 20-ies.

Karl did add little of himself into collection: Embroided white chemise on black skirts made Queeny Van der Zande look like him. Shirt dresses are black and voluminous and Trench coat on Lara Stone is black, elegant and simple. He dressed Tatiana Patitz and Skye Stracke like sailor’s sweethearts. Swimsuit is made to dress Sunset Boulevard's femme fatale for pool party or indie girl to enjoy restless surfing season in double colored swimsuit with laces. Black and white Laced up peep-toe boots above the ankle and those up to ankle are wearing Coco's cachet but up to date and fabulous. He still pays attention to every detail whether is lace dress with or rich extravagant necklace or shoe. Cocktail dresses are lightly hugging models bodies looking like Mademoiselle herself came back to her suite at Ritz; fresh, vibrant and suntanned from le vacation.

Karl is only designer that can modernize Chanel’s vision and stay enough altruistic to respect the memory of Coco. By bringing collection for woman that thinks that there is time to work and time to love; And that leaves no other time. Mademoiselle would be proud. Once again; Bravo Karl.

Entrechat, Jete, Pirouette, Fouette and Fashion

Sleek hair pulled back, tricot, chiffon, satin, tiny princess shoe, ribbons… Show, lights, music and audience…is there any profession with more fashion in it?
We hate on them sometimes for they figure but most of the time we want to change bodies with them. If you were ever practicing ballet or you are ballerina you meet pain that is required to be part of that society. Ballet is peaceful and painful in same time. And image is sophistication
Jean Paul Gaultier reminded me on that sophistication when he enchanted us this year with Satin ballet pumps. Silk string and high heel? Is there any ability for more refined feet?
Head over heels was when I saw Bona Drag ballerina flats.
Low cut neck sleeve tops are very popular these days in stores, brought to us by bandage inspired 80ies clothes of flashdance and crew.
Rock Ballerina I’m sure you have high wasted skirt to be paired with that (Erin Wasson X RVCA Christian Skirt)

Little black dress Was Chanel vision of untrammeled girl allured a bit with Parisian ballet? Tempting designers to sew more dresses with wide striped sleeves. There is nothing more sophisticated than that.( Stella McCartney Silk Dress With Contrast Straps, Preen Cotton Trick Dress)
Icon; Edie was on of the first party girls that brought elements of what she does in her outfits. Factory girl nice explains you how was she dressed daily.

P.S. Ballerinas don’t wear earrings but you should(Marc Jacobs Tassel and safety pin earrings)
P.I.S.S.Fashion on the end has its beginnings on ceremonies, theater. So why wouldn’t ballerinas inspire us?

misslikey at lagoona beach

I’ve read somewhere old interview of Lauren DuPont, famous New York socialite and girl in style where she was asked what three items would she choose if she is stranded on some island. Don’t you despite those kinds of questions?! All of our lives we are tortured with choose word. Please. There's no necessity of answering on that. Lauren did answer like a true fashion diplomat; ˝Forget it. I would find a way to get off the island. That’s one island I don’t want to be on.˝
Since the season of brain torturing where to go what to do is coming somehow I am most thinking of Robinson’s Cruise type of getaway. Not just me, but lot of people lately are on personal with edgy trends that sometimes you really think is that all trashy and ripped clothes result of our states of minds. I mean we look like we are partying all the time. Should we put are minds in state of serenity sometimes? I mean I am socialite type of girl but every now and then it comes out my animalistic instinct of running. That’s probably reason of those weird dreams. And when I am running somewhere first thing I want to know is what place looks like so I can be in harmony with surrounding. That is our fashion animalistic instinct. Google is really a blessing. And you know, getaway on desert island isn’t that bad dream at all. My first allusion on abandoned island is Lagoona Beach. Don’t you worship that movie? Chic of nature where Brooke Shields stands in the sand in tiny little outfit with wind waving her hair. Since I would be on my desert island for couple of days I surely won’t have time to make my clothes like Emmeline and Richard. This year summer collections weren't filled with that earth touch like past years. You do remember a last year raffia sandals from Stella McCartney? Stella McCartney. Oh gosh I mention that name so many times that she is probably dreaming about me while having a nap in Hyde Park. Stella Stella
my deserted island must have list
Don't you adore the outnet of netaporter? Some fab buys can be found there, like this Stella's raffia flat sandals

Summer essential...white dress..use chiffon or cottoned shirt, dress, or long tee to be one minute chic

On the market now

Marc by Marc Jacobs Devore cotton dress on netaporter, cream dress with the ruffles found on polyvore , Alexander Wang long tee dress from lagarconne, crystal on chain neklace is from Bona Drag
Swimmsuit

This year I more into vintage swimmwear than ever. I love this ruffled vintage look like bikini from Anthropologie
and the beauty from Herve Leger for Max Azria is goody. Sure Richard would love to see that on Emmeline
p.s. Please don't fill your little heads with unuseful information, better watch them from the sun. Straw hats can be find on every market or store with the swimmwear so please bring your hat on le vacation especially if you are going on island!
How could I even forget...Where to pack all this kind of goodies? Moi fell in love with this navy striped weekend bag from Accessorize. This bag is icon, whether you use it like weekend or beach bag.

p.i.s.s. Hm Hmm so next time someone ask you what would you take on desert island list your list. Since I don't have enough space for more photos on list includ; avanturistic mood, chic long silk scarf, good book or cute boy.
And once again LOVE you all for reading misslikey

Model as a muse

My predictions came true; Chanel was bellwether in haute couture last night at Met Gala. With Anna in black white lightly printed Chanel in 60-ies style ahead and followed by rising star Edita Vilkeviciute, Diane Kruger, Karen Elson and Kirsten Dunst who was absolutely charming in gypsy queen style..
Haute couture was also pick of Mary Kate Olsen but she was too tiny for Christian Lacroix gown . While Mko was too gothic, Ashley was absolutely stunning in simple white gown of her Row design. Another girl that left me breathless is Bee Schaffer who finally got rid of mum's prints and called Olivier Theyskens. Though she wasn't only cause seems that Olivier was one of the busy designers last night.

Versace Atelier was as usual, on actress; Jessica Biel, Blake Lively, Emma Roberts and one model; Gisele.
Another actresses dresser was Calvin Klein so Collection was on Eva Mendes, Hilary Swank, Isabeli Fontana and Brooke Shields
Calvin's American simplicity can really stand fine jewelry and last night was the real promenade of Chanel’s, Van Cleef & Arpels, Harry Winston, Fred Leighton and Cartier jewels.
Another runned promenade was of Marc Jacob's dresses since he was a host of the party. Theater company was in Marc Jacobs and music royality in Louis Vuitton, Even Vicky Beckham choose him instead of her.
From casting crew I loved Claire Danes in Giorgio Armani Privé, Van Cleef & Arpels emerald earings on Anne Hathaway, Diane Von Furstenberg simple gowns on Eva Longoria and Rosario Dawson
Vintage crew were; Amber Valletta in James Galanos, Paulina Porizkova and Dasha Zhukova in vintage Prada dress

Talking about fashion royality in vintage, Aerin Lauder Zinterhofer was queen in nude silk dress.
Model as a muse
Old school girls were lovely last night;
Iman is icon with reason; she picked tube long gown from Donna Karan in metal silver. No jewelry, just two thin bracelets and charming black nail polish, Nadja was simple lovely in Lanvin and Claudia all hearted in Versace Atelier. Heidi Klum was glowing like always but Tyra Banks really pleasantly suprised me in Badgley Mishka lovely dress. Only one who failed on the test of the old school girls is Cindy Crawford.
Clique gathered around Stella wasn’t made of models, it was sequined and theatrical; Liv Tyler and Kate Hudson (January Jones was also in lovely sequins but by Michael Kors)
Sorry Stella, I don’t like to talk against you, but more charming was Rachel Roy’s clique; Lakshmi Menon and Joy Bryant. But dress on Kate Bosworth saved McCartney

So Roland Mouret was holding Catherine McNeil hand, Alexander Wang hand of Lara Stone, Isaac Mizrahi of Coco Rocha, Richard Chai was holding Kurkova and hand of Raquel Zimmermann was with Proenza Schouler's boys

Daria Werbowy in Balmain, Liya Kebede, Vanessa Traina in Phi, Anja Rubik in Balmain and Caroline Winberg in Emilio Pucci

Agyness Deyn in Burberry Prorsum, Arlenis Sosa in Alberta Ferretti, Miranda Kerr in Jil Sander, Raquel Zimmermann, Anna Jagodzinska

Oluchi Onweagba in Oscar de la Renta, Caroline Trentini, Angela Lindvall in Jil Sander,Flavia De Oliveira and Chanel Iman in Zac Posen, Sasha Pivovarova in Giambattista Valli
p.s. You pick your own this year Met's princess or muse.

Cutting, ripping...hey where are my scissors?

Okay I promise I’ll stop with cutting after this. But just one more time. Please. Okay at least we are without bleacher this time. Seriously should I turn misslikey into “misslikey home made” or “misslikey do it by yourself”? It is funny how this cropped, ripped or bleached trends started. Seems that you just need to be creative. I am really laughing now because it will sound insane but do really designers want to sell their clothes? Is awareness of recession causing developing of the brands? Even Mr. Cavalli got mad at Alex the great Wang and Balmain's Christopher Decarnin so Italian started to rip pants on models. Oh Gosh I am really making a conspiracy theory here; well don't torture your smart heads with that, rather take scissors into the hand. So to make your vertical fringes what will you cut; leggings (pants) or dress?
1.Dress case;

Amber Valetta in Vogue Italia and Alexander Wang fall 09 ripped skeleton white dress
If you are not good with scissors you'll find attractive this dress from Bona Drag for very attractive 140$. Lovely knotted with striped tube underneath it looks a bit skeleton, don't you think?

2.Leggings/pants case
Inpiration; Rumi from FashionToast..Rumi already wore her American Apparel ripped leggings in 2008. Rumi Neely is really a muse. We love Rumi. And we love Erin Wasson

Not good with scissors? Well wait for Wang's fall collection to come in stores or go for ripped leggings from Singer22

p.s. This was another edgy post. Stop. I'm stuck lately. Stop
p.i.s.s. Since we need from time to time a little calm fashion next time I am taking you to one magic spot. So for little divines check on misslikey for a few days. Meanwhile my kitty kats do the cuty cut!
