Model Crush; Katy Dron

She has beautiful and warm blue eyes. Her skin is just like porcelain. Her curly brown hair with the bangs is rebellious but romantic. On the photos she looks like this fragile creature from some secret world. Playful but shy was my first impression of this girl that I spotted on the photos of TBA ‘s fall lookbook. She brought the innocent bourgeois bohemian vibe to handsome pieces from collection. Her name is Katy Dron, and even if we don’t know much about her I have feeling that this girl is going to have a brilliant career in fashion industry. She is signed with Metropolitan Models, Elite and Union Models, did an editorial for Lula Magazine Slanted and Enchanted and appeared in Grazia. She walked the runaways at the Holly Fulton, Roksanda Ilincic and Rachel Comey shows. Chanel, Miu Miu, Karen Walker, Charles Anastase, Erdem, Mulberry, Valentino wake up! This is the girl for you!

spring, summer & orla

From season to season, Orla Kiely collection is among those that I can’t wait to see. With unique and recognizable prints, Irish but London-based designer became UK queen of graphic prints. Multi Stem might be her signature and most famous print, but with every new collection she surprises us with something fresh and new. Apples, anyone? Or maybe apricots? Polka dots or apple spots? Orla always thinks further than predictable.
Garments from this year's spring collection are one of the reasons why we are hopelessly devoted to these spring days. So we welcome you, easy fabrics, casual shapes and charming prints. When we welcome Orla, we welcome all those things sprinkled with 60s and 70s charm, quirky vibe and feminine touch. Edie Campbell on the photos and Nathalie Love starring in the collection video flawlessly channeled chic and casual spring and summer days. And the beach chic? Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka Dot Bikini? No it’s Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Orla Apple Spots Bikini.

what was Alexa wearing lately

She was partying at Coachella in Phillip Lim dress. Mulberry’s most famous ambassador went to Korea in lavender pleated shirt dress from Mulberry fall collection. Not in shops yet! Like the mother of all hipsters, Alexa is DJing in little black velvet dress. For a magazine party she wore the red pants and polka dot blouse. With little pastel dresses she wears grey tights. Oh Alexa, do you ever make mistakes?
I think now I will take the test!

ALEXA’S TEST
  • Is there at least tiny sparkle of jealousy in your eyes?
  • Do you want to be Alexa’s best friend?
  • Your life’s wish is to spend the day in her closet?
  • Do you stalk her on the Internet?
If you answered "yes" to these questions you are 100 % Chungster! You are destined to be Internet stalker of Alexa’s outfits. Just please stay away from her house. And find a place where you will feel happy. One of these places is Alexa Chung Daily.

*NOTE Apologize to all of you who are reading weekly links because I didn't post. Last week I was so busy that I wasn't reading anything except my planner! I promise candies this Sunday!

summery frocks and all the pretty mint

I think mint color is stalking me lately. Here’s the thing;
I paint a chair in robin’s egg blue with white polka dots and next moment I regret cause I didn’t paint it mint. With polka dots. I am attendee of découpage workshop and I bring the wooden jewelry box with me. Lady talks about crack, lavenders and olives and rolls eyes over vintage and girly œuvres d’art, which my mate and me made. And I mix white acrylic paint with blue and I get the pale blue. Again I wish I made a mint background. Why I make such a terrible mistakes when all I ever wanted is the flat in Notting Hill area with mint kitchen, vintage lace curtains and polka dot tea set. Even my boyfriend when you wake him up in the middle of the night and ask for the flat, answers in a minute; “Mint kitchen! vintage lace curtains! polka dot china! big brass bed! floral wallpapers in the bedroom!”

In case you've missed it...

Who's there, who's gone, who won and who failed. In this crazy world of fashion things are  really changing on a daily basis. So during the past week except Balmain Glitter Girl lost her designer, one shoe went to the court to solve the problem between Christian Louboutin and Yves Saint Laurent House. Famous fashion journalist Hilary Alexander will say goodbye to Telegraph, and Carine is busy styling Chanel’s fall-winter campaign in Paris with Freja.
Well apart from all these who-where-what issues, I love to read a  bit different kind of stories…those that are smart, interesting and warm. Here are those that I was reading and seeing during the past week. Lay back, click and enjoy!

1. Spiegel; Fashion Is a Matter of Taste, Not Money
Interview with my dear Carine Roitfeld, who will always be the “Editor of French Vogue’s spirit and smell” She is a smart lady, surprisingly modest, and according to stories very kind person.
“Of course, it's not like we're working in a hospital; we don't save lives every month. We just make decisions about skirt lengths, about an inch more or an inch less.”, is just one of the smart quotes she pronounced.
2. Haute World; The Oxfam Curiosity Shop
One of my favorite fellow bloggers visits Oxfam Curiosity Shop at Selfridges in London. Find out what she saw there.
3. Lucy In Disguise blog: Meet Paddy Egan- in-house tailor for Lucy in Disguise
Did you know that vintage store Lucy In Disguise has in-house tailor? For free. Oh mine.
4. Boston.com; Bill Cunningham New York
"We all get dressed for Bill," says Anna Wintour.  Everyone loves Bill and documentary about him  is must-see film.
5. Sally Jane Vintage; Freedom Two
Beautiful collection from my favorite New Zealand brand, Lonely Hearts. Too lovely items and photos, captured by photographer Sara Orme.
6. RDuJour; Gypset Style by Julia Chaplin
Who are Gypsetters?
7. The House of Isla Blog; spell CHAOS
What a studio, what a view!
8. Into The Gloss; Costanza Pascolato
Vogue Brazil columnist looks totally fabulous. 72 and awesome!
9. Frankie Magazine Blog; pre-easter cheer
Frankie loves small joys. Me too. It’s time of the year for the bunnies!
10. La Mignonette; Moi, je veux une barrette!
Barrette in the hair. Oh so chic!

Petite Cardigans

My petite cardigan, you are great part-time lover for spring days and summer nights. Unlike the jacket,I don’t have to
carry you around, if sun is bit happier that day and I have to work for a pound. You always find your place in the space
of my bag. Bows, spots, pom poms, hearts, flowers, birds, cats, stars; you perky guys, you are all very welcome on my
cardigans. Also I wouldn’t refuse you little pearls if you find yours place under the curls. And you little lace, you are
really sometimes cardigan’s finest grace.

Friends of mine & TBA spring summer 2011

Cibelle, Isabel, Moon, Natalie, Juju, Juju B, Sam, Tabitha, Mira...this is not another girl crush. It’s even the bigger crush. The crush you began to adore. That is To Be Adored. It’s pretty easy to be alive in the springtime with light fabrics, pastel colors and beautiful patterns from TBA. And when the clothing items have names as Cibelle or Juju is easy to become crazy about them. So who are these friends and those girls?
Cibelle is pleated pinafore style dress. Her bodice is embellished with lace and neckline with Peter Pan collar. She is a kinda of friend that I would take for summer walks. Isabel is polished; she has long sleeves with white cuffs and sheer Peter Pan collar. She is hopelessly romantic and charming with that little pocket. Moon is Isabel look-alike but is more indulgent. I’ve heard she is already Alexa Chung’s best friend. Sam and Tabitha are perfect and nice, just like easygoing companions that I adore to have in my life. Sam is floral, has white collar with red button while I am utterly mad about polka dots Tabitha with ruffles! Mira is a silk ballerina in yellow with a swing skirt. Silky Natalie is a blouse. I’d like to hang out with her on days when I wear denim trousers. Juju is a floral blazer and Juju B. nude one and they could be nice travel escorts.

All the girls are very playful and girly but also have a boyish vibe. You may want to become friends with them? Here are addresses where you might find them; TBA SHOP, PIXIE MARKET, MAXIMILLIA(AU), ASOS and UO
