Peace, love & fashion in personal; It's a Woodstock, baby

I immediately curled the braid into my hair and I was about to pack few of my dresses and peasant blouses, while royal-esque waving in the mirror with fingers in the sign of peace, when I heard rumors few weeks ago about big anniversary of Woodstock festival. Joel and Michael couldn’t pull the agreement, so we will celebrate with lot of exhibitions, and humorously dramatic Taking Woodstock with Joseph G. Aulisi in a role as a costume designer. That must have been very demanding work for him to reincarnate dressing of W music & art festival since we know how fashion world was very trying that in different phases. 69’ boys and girls that astonished us with clothes from department stores and borrowed glam lady like clothes from 70s mums are great blow on today’s wear; Boho chic, fringes, flowers, granny skirts, tees and grunge for boys. And its not that is just an in-style thing of transformed neo-hippies, or it’s just a motion in the mud on one of those new festivals in chic rain boots, that W brought. Apart from dressing for the future generations, with W came new wave of how to live and think. If I could name one person that is love child of Woodstock, person that crosses my mind immediately would be my friend Tiana. One of my early childhood friends, from one of those stories when you are always in touch with, but not seeing very often and your mums are BBF (best best friends). And if she dresses like walking love, that is a pure coincidence or just a pure consequence .Around left wrist, she wears a silver chain necklace as a bracelet with the silver ring inherited from her dad as a pendant. Sculptor girl that was spontaneously slithering to vocation of photographer since I know her, is likely to pull her Canon and start to click in those moments when you hope for some girly talk. I am pretty used now to be kind of subconsciously ready for conversation with photo therapist when I meet her. ˝Go on, just talk, I am listening to you˝, she mutters and makes a click while catching a forelock that has fallen from her nonchalant chignon, thought usually you will see her light brown hippy waves beneath her model shoulders. In this particular august night I had some smartly serious issues conversation with her, she is wearing indigo blue top with cutwork details, which if it is in white would be awfully romantic, but on her looks arty-chic. Her crossed long legs covered with red white striped skinny pants perfectly match with lightly washed navy espadrilles, one more thing inherited from her dad. And in her eco bag is camera. It is not a thing about her that she walks trough the world always ready for a sleepover at concert, but it’s her personality, energy around and well worked bohemian way of living. Yes and the fact that travels with her boyfriend in a van, it’s just a pure coincidence! That love and happiness of Woodstock enchants her since she was a kid. She was amazed by Janis Joplin at first when she started to listen at her records. ˝Generally I couldn’t never live in the present, I have always loved that escape to the past”, thinks girl that thinks that life is more about simplicity and less about pretentiousness. She is amazed by those people that are able to live with each other in communities and camps, and stay restless and tolerant. And she totally calmed walks in waving with her nonchalant hair while I am trying to catch her dog Coffee, when he goes little wild when spotting opposite sex dog mate.

There is something about her serenity chic-nes, that comes with her every time she enters the room. I think I still have to do a lot of solar yoga and maybe one lovable day I will be able to own that kind of energy. Well, I’ve always believed in world as big lawn where girls are walking in white dresses with daises in hands.
What I like to see are more of us eco-friendly, no matter if its about fashion or way of life, even if we call them neo-hippies, and even if it is just a trend; or a phase, it brings love in our lives. I feel that love in this august summer nights when I am dressing in the Woodstock style with Dylan’s one more cup of coffee on the stereo (see, Bob and I are the only two people that weren’t there). I feel that when I lay my peace fingers on peace fingers of my another neo-hippy friend, menswear designer Zanela, every time I spot headband with the flower on her platinum blonde hair. Most of the times we giggle and shout at each other ˝It’s a Woodstock, sister!!˝,while having disapproval looks from society members. Call me a dreamer but who says we are not peace & love generation?!
And how is going to be in September, would anniversary of Woodstock impact on printemps-ete collections, we will see soon.

Special thanks to Tiana and her boyfriend Sasha for their help with this post.

Beautiful post, dear. I think we're definitely reverting back to that simpler time of the Woodstock era. I think this movie and attitude will be popular.
