Emily Winfield Martin illustrations

Emily Winfield Martin is amazingly talented illustrator and painter based in Portland, which really seems to be today’s mecca of prettiness full of creative folks that we thanks to this huge virtual world discover on daily base. Therefore, I was happy from the moment I discovered one of Emily Winfield’s illustrations that featured a girl wearing a striped top and Mary Janes and riding on carousel surrounded by ducks and other dear animals. From an early age Miss Winfield had a quite picturesque imagination therefore as a little girl she was spending every moment drawing, reading, dressing rabbits in fancy clothes, and having many peculiar daydreams.
Besides she is known worldwide and her works have been published in many magazines, she is the author and illustrator of an illustrated novel for children Oddfellow's Orphanage and a paper doll epic called The Black Apple's Paper Doll Primer. Her illustrations are like little secret doors to another vivid world where magical prettiness lives. And we adore secret worlds like this one of Miss Winfield. It’s good that she lends us a key for this door so we can enter into this imaginary and picturesque world.

Decor Crush...The Storybook Rabbit

Dear readers,

Let me introduce you my newest décor crush; The Storybook Rabbit.
This lovely Etsy shop from Sydney and its owner Kelly offer pretty range of vintage plates, all hand illustrated with sweet motifs. The tale of The Storybook Rabbit begins when Kelly brought home a little black rabbit named Juno, who became a character of these gorgeous plates.
Nowadays, on Storybook plates you can see little deer that adore flowers, handholding bunnies, bunnies playing jump rope, bunnies in love and hipster bunnies. Real little handsome world of bunnies, that makes unique décor for the home.
And what can be better decoration for the wall than a hanging plate that’s simple, charming and tells a story?

Paper crush...Rifle Paper Co. greeting cards

Well, it’s not a utopian myth that we, the people are all born with certain talents. Actually, the secret of our mission on this journey called life is to develop these talents into something real. The creativity it’s not a talent per se, creativity is turning something you love to do into your daily job.

That’s why the story of Rifle Paper Co., founded by illustrator and paper goods designer Anna Bond has amazed me. Talented Anna with her husband Nathan started small business that today is recognizable worldwide brand offering all the kinds of paper goods that you can imagine.
Besides online shop, couple also owns stationary boutique based in Florida. Anna’s illustrations are playful, charming and spread lot of happiness. And is there anything better than good old paper card to express your happiness for someone else?

In Search...Suzy Bishop dress

Our love for mod dresses in style of Ye-Ye girls has deepened when Suzy Bishop, teenager who is on the lookout for adventure of her life, showed up. Before Suzy, we were searching for frocks with collars and cuffs in thrift stores hoping to find something in our size but it was almost impossible. Luckily for us, these days we are able to find not just artworks or cool geeky stuff but also dresses influenced by dear Suzy.
Quirky fan of Francoise Hardy that walks around in knee socks and saddle shoes also inspired Katie-Louise Ford who created three adorable Suzy frocks for Audrey Grace Boutique. (See here.)

If you could be any fictional character, who would you choose to be?
Misslikey would be Suzy, definitely.

Illustration crush; Katy Smail

Probably you have noticed Katy Smail illustrations around your tumblr dashboard or at WeHeartIt. I’ve been stumbling upon illustrations of this girl for quite a long, but I didn’t know her name until I discovered her blog Thistledown Spirits by accident.
Katy is NYC based illustrator that creates whimsical stories featuring pretty fashionable pieces and all the pretty thing we love. Her illustrations embellish covers of books and are featured in publications, and she is also doing quite interesting collaborations with photographers, designers and artist. Katy’s work is also special because of her playing with collage technique, so magical things such as birds or flowers often surround her girls dressed up in pretty frocks. And how wonderful are her zodiac illustrations...

Illustration file; Loulou Androlia

Once upon a time, lovely Loulou used to make prettiest collars embroidered with stars and moons and finest bows and lingerie that only princesses wear.
Today, Loulou Loves You is still creating her floral headbands to wrap our heads with little sparkles that flowers spread. Except she is designer and Reiki healer, exceptional Loulou Androlia is also very talented illustrator that creates magic with her pen. Her drawings are cheerful, pretty and magical. Just like the life.
Loulou loves you, we seriously love you!

illustration file; Sarah McNeil

Sarah McNeil is very talented New Zealand-based artists and illustrator, whose work has been featured in Magazines like Chikismiqui, Blanket and Frankie. Her illustrated girls are not some super-heroines that jump off the sky or are doing something turbulent, they are tender creatures, which are very often friends with animals so they will whisper to butterfly or will protect a bird. Of course they are all dressed very well and have the sweetest collars and dresses. And wild creatures, even those that we consider of as dangerous, with Sarah’s pencil look very friendly, fragile and happy. Unlike the most illustrations of animals today, especially in children books where they often look like aliens,  this pretty illustrated world is something completely different. You can purchase prints, original illustrations, postcards, stickers and lots of more from her Etsy shop! And please pay attention to names! Pretty interesting creature is this Sarah McNeil. Don’t you agree?
