China Darling...Xinyuan Zhang

In the high competitive world of modeling, we get amazed by new faces we see every day but we will forget about these astonishing beauties soon as the new model pops in to win our heart. Of course there are those whose face we won’t forget so easily. Xinyuan Zhang is one of those girls.

Born in Hubei Province of China, she graduated from Central Academy of Drama in Beijing and became popular through social networks. Once being discovered, her face graced the cover of I-D Magazine and pages of many others. Not only she has a face of porcelain doll, but this young lady is very self-aware and through her modeling career has developed unique aesthetic vision and oriental wisdom saying no to vulgar photo shootings and editorials. And her personal style is all about collar dresses, exaggerated accessories, red lipstick and unique pieces of headwear. We love her even more once we found about that!

The Loved Hannah

In the sea of hip kids we see around every day, there are not many of those who can actually surprise us pleasantly every time they do something new. Among the ladies we love to see around the internet is Hannah Metz, brilliantly creative mind that with her lifestyle recreates the sensuality of some bygone times. Hannah is also one-half of the duo behind vintage store and lingerie brand The Loved One.

The Loved One lingerie pieces created together by Hannah and Elvia Lahman are here to bring an air of lost indulgence into our modern lives, while their vintage stock has been a place for finding secret gems coming from beginning of the century and the mod era. The recent novelty from The Loved One is new in-house clothing line named Made by TLO and instead of old big cartel shop, label has launched online shop where they except of their own designs, still sell amazing vintage pieces and some independent labels. Actually, in the future TLO has a plan of surprising us with more pieces from independent designers which is always good news for misslikey. This latest photo shoot Hannah did for TLO came as an inspiration for these days when you can sense the different air that with blues announces that summer will slowly disappear and will guide us to autumnal days. Let's just hope that rain that comes to our paths would be tender and that winds would play carefully with our handsome frocks. The air might be cool in autumn days, but our hearts are always bright as a dainty summer day.

Sunday Stalking...The Casa of Florence

Florence Welch is such a darling. Most interesting to me of contemporary female singers, this redhead with angelic voice is really something special. Her performances in her flowy dresses with appearance of Madame Gres look like that surreal creature came from the clouds and started to sing. With her attitude and style at the same time she is so powerful and sweet.
Powerful and sweet were also the words I thought when I saw the feature of Florence Welch’s new apartment in May issue of Vogue US. Florence moved recently into new apartment in South London and made this space in Georgian house her paradise.
Bohemian paradise à la Flo is embellished with her gorgeous antique décor and vintage clothing pieces. She has a crush on tapestries, so except tapestries in bedroom, her Renaissance corner with prints and tapestries is placed at stairwell of apartment. Every single piece of apartment looks like it belongs to this pretty home, but what prettiest in this spread is Flo herself.
Dressed up in Louis Vuitton white voluminous dress sitting on her reupholstered striped sofa, looks like a bohemian princess from some other prettier planet. And while posing in front of Victorian fireplace in silky YSL dress, I reckon this would be the moment when Mr. Laurent would be totally proud of Heidi Slimane.

stalking Alexa

Today in Paris the show will be over. Not exactly over, but it will take a short time-out until the September of this year. This season I realized that all those pushing in the front rows became kind of boring, and the fact that every year there are more and more great shows kind of annoying. I didn’t see all the shows and all the pretty or less pretty clothes. I’ll stick to my favorites, I firmly decided. So I stopped with robe-sighting in the time of London Fashion Week between Orla Kiely, Erdem and Peter Jensen. The rest of the shows and my favorites I will see when the buzz is over. Photos of all those sisters, stars, celebrity bloggers, hip editors that are popping all over on my social networks are making me tired. Except in the case of Alexa Chung. Photos of good old Alexa in the times of the Fashion Week are like visitors that are always welcome. Never boring. Do you love 'Alexa stalking'?

Model Crush; Katy Dron

She has beautiful and warm blue eyes. Her skin is just like porcelain. Her curly brown hair with the bangs is rebellious but romantic. On the photos she looks like this fragile creature from some secret world. Playful but shy was my first impression of this girl that I spotted on the photos of TBA ‘s fall lookbook. She brought the innocent bourgeois bohemian vibe to handsome pieces from collection. Her name is Katy Dron, and even if we don’t know much about her I have feeling that this girl is going to have a brilliant career in fashion industry. She is signed with Metropolitan Models, Elite and Union Models, did an editorial for Lula Magazine Slanted and Enchanted and appeared in Grazia. She walked the runaways at the Holly Fulton, Roksanda Ilincic and Rachel Comey shows. Chanel, Miu Miu, Karen Walker, Charles Anastase, Erdem, Mulberry, Valentino wake up! This is the girl for you!

She was partying at Coachella in Phillip Lim dress. Mulberry’s most famous ambassador went to Korea in lavender pleated shirt dress from Mulberry fall collection. Not in shops yet! Like the mother of all hipsters, Alexa is DJing in little black velvet dress. For a magazine party she wore the red pants and polka dot blouse. With little pastel dresses she wears grey tights. Oh Alexa, do you ever make mistakes?
I think now I will take the test!

Who's that Girl; Valentine Fillol-Cordier

For Valentine Fillol-Cordier life is everything but boring. This Paris-born, London-based beauty started modeling at fifteen. With her fresh boyish face and beautiful dreamy eyes she conquered fashion community in a minute. She was a face for brands such as APC, UO and Whistles and one of the frequent faces in magazines such as Nylon, Lula or Purple. After she seduced the photo objectives with a face that slightly reminds of Kate Moss in the 90s, with her style she enchanted many so she began to style editorials and runaway shows. Not only that she became muse of few designers, she is muse of many fashion-obsessed. For Charles Anastase she is not just consultant, stylist and right hand, but also a great friend. And probably his biggest muse; styling of the spring collection was just wonderful, lot of simple garments brought to life through bit of colored details in transparent way. She also styles lookbooks for Charlotte Olympia shoes and is contributing editor of Dossier. Not just the muse of the photographers, seems that video cameras loves her also, so you can see her performance in many short fashion films, act in ad directed by Wes Anderson and dance in rock video. Talking music, for a while this girl was one of the vocals in UK band The Big Pink. Talking friends, if you are visitor of hip places you can see her with Alexa or maybe Tennessee. She is also friend of Skye Parrot, photographer and co-founder of Dossier magazine. And talking style, she knows what she does. She loves menswear that wears in very elegant and feminine way. In a vintage dress and Charlotte Olympia heels she looks like she popped out from some couture show. Elegant, but never too polished, fresh but always bit vintage. I would say Marc Jacobs girl with French manners. And she is not trendy but is inventor of the trends. Not only she was dating Jamie Hince way before Moss even heard for the Kills, she was wearing Charles Anastase Dungeon boots before the Jeffrey came out with the name Lita. When she cut her long messy hair to a bob with bangs in manner of Anna Karina (same haircut had the Charles Anastase spring runaway girls) you can even more feel that French scent. Not to mention she has beauty mark on cheekbone. And yes did I mention she has more polaroids than you and me together… And that from the all interviews with her I read, she sounds like a really quality, smart and self-confident young women. So that makes Valentine the perfect choice for this belated first post in the New Year.

Fans of Alexander Wang probably remember her wearing that infamous sheer dress at SS09 show, while I spotted her first at McCartney. She fits naturally in clothes made by Stella cause she has just right balance of femininity and rock and roll vibe. Brazilian beauty might not be super chameleon when it comes to transformations, but she obviously has what it takes to last in the modeling world for more than 5 years. After opening of Balenciaga show back in the 2008, everyone was talking about this girl and she became one of the regular faces in magazines. She recently did campaign for See by Chloe while earlier campaigns include clients like D&G, Missoni and H&M. This season she walked more than 20 shows but her most successful season still is autumn of 2008. For i-D magazine said she listens to Rolling Stones and Beatles and her favorite designer is Marc Jacobs. Apparently she is not just i-D mag chéri, but also of Carine Roifteld, so she appeared in seven editorials for Vogue Paris during last two years.
Also Miss Weber, is one of the rare models of generation that had a cameo role in movie. And we are not talking about an ordinary movie, directed by ordinary director, but by Tom Ford and his A Single Man. Aline as Lois with black-lined eyes and blonde hair a la Bardot, earned the applause if for nothing, than just for the way she smokes. Maybe this title should be supermodel instead of model crush. Usually this would be a model crush but when it comes to Zanita Whittington is hard to talk about categories. 21-year-old fashionable darling from Australia is not just some ordinary magazine beauty but she could easily own a magazine; she is model, photographer, stylist, writer and the blogger. Tell me that you haven’t immediately fallen for Zanita the moment you came across her online world. If so you must have noticed it's not just about the pretty clothes or vintage treasures or her Blake Lively meets Claudia Schiffer in 90s glance, but the overall energy that radiates from Zanita.
Except the star of bloggosphere, she is very successful model- recently she appeared in editorial for British Vogue and she is American Apparel’s Classic Girl.
Not are only self-portraits of outfits that you would adore on Zanita’s blog but you could easily become obsessed with photo stories she posts frequently, all captured and styled by her. Amateur photographer, as she describes herself in about me section, knows better what to do behind the lens than many self-proclaimed fashion photographers nowadays.

I spotted Julia Nobis in the recent Resort 2011 look books. She fitted perfectly into idea of edgy at Alexander Wang same as into ladylike and preppy at Richard Nicoll and Peter Jensen. Natural blond hair and porcelain skin, you might think this is another Nordic beauty but the blonde doll is actually Sydney native. Nobis, discovered at the age of 15, to take modeling bit seriously waited to finish high school. Then happened the bang- walks Calvin Klein F/W show as an exclusive. The Cut called Aussie newcomer London’s Top Model and besides she walked numerous catwalks this season, she also was opener at Topshop Unique and closer at Richard Nicoll. Not to mention bookings on RAFW. She is signed with Priscillas and Elite and appeared in editorials for Russh, Amica, i-D Magazine and both Italian and British Vogue. Outstanding beauty, according to Vogue UK will be new face of New Zealand’s footwear label Beau Coops.
Most 17-year old girls would probably hyperventilate just of thought of own face in Vogue but Julia seems cool with that. “When I have money I treat myself to more and more extravagant chocolates and biscuits, but if worst comes to worst I always have my guitar top fall back on. Strange that chocolate can be substituted by music,” said Julia in interview for summer issue of i-D Magazine. And music she obviously adores; her style icon is Kurt Cobain and playing the guitar is her surviving tool for breaks between the shows. Who's that girl; Tennessee Thomas

You can think of nowadays hip indie kids whatever you want but you must admit many of them have great sense for style. It goes also for Tennessee Thomas, drummer of girl band The Like and daughter of Elvis Costello’s drummer Pete Thomas. This rock infant from indie-royalty cliques (one of the BBFs Alexa Chung and ex boyfriend Mark IT girls-radar Ronson) in teenager years formed a band with two school friends. The Like today has 4 girl members and they intrigue both music and fashion spheres. They were performing at Vena Cava’s fall show, and Zac Posen hired them for short film to promote his collection for Target. (Directed by Gia Coppola, another school pal)
Talking fashion, Tennessee is already a star of the field. Not happens to every girl nowadays that has glasses frame named after her (Charles Anastase oversized Tennessee glasses). Talking modeling she was recently hired by FOREVER 21 for Boutique and with above-mentioned Alexa was star of Wren lookbook. The Lula Mag cosset, which is a frequent face on Lula’s scrapbook, also appeared in a film Spell, collaboration between Topshop and Lula, directed by Maximilla Lukacs and Sarah Sophie Flicker. It’s not strange she is Lula Darling since she has a glance of exact girl from the dreams that popped out from pages of vintage Polaroid editorial.

The rock'n'romantic blond wears loosen mane and bangs that go almost into the eyes in a manner of old school rock star. Her Peter Pan collar dresses look like she spent some time hanging with Marianne Faithfull. And all of the 60s sweetheart romantic dresses and lace items she wears makes you want to delve into her closet. Recently in the Band interview for Refinery29 she stated she has a style of a Beatles fan and that dresses with white collar are her secret style weapon. Sure they are -Just look how she wears them. Details like Saddle shoes, basket bag, heart tights, over knee stockings, tell Tennessee is a girl that knows how to have fun. And apparently it looks like she is dressing up for herself. That is why she is so irresistible-in style.

Model Crush; Joan Smalls

I spotted her first on Derek Lam fall 2010 runaway and immediately fell for her and the brown dress with black leather insert she was wearing-"Joan Smalls is the girl of the moment." The Puerto Rican beauty, with Queen's address has been modeling from 2007 but Givenchy Spring Couture show soars her among modeling stars. We never really doubted in Ricardo Tisci taste.
Miss Smalls this fall season walked the 44 runaways in Milan, London, New York and Paris including those most spotted as Alexander Wang, Prada, Burberry, Marc Jacobs, Stella, Hermes are. That is very of success for established model, not to mention for newcomer so is surely that Joan Smalls will be pretty busy next fashion week season. In campaigns we saw her in those for Ports 1961, Dillard's, Liz Claiborne, Neiman Marcus, Ralph Lauren and according to industry predictions this is just a beginning for this charming fille of age 21.
This long legged, golden skin goddess in her suitcase always carries bikini, a pair of black high heels and a pair of comfortable jeans. Better to keep that suitcase of hers always ready cause this face would for surely travel the planet of fashion.

Who's that girl: Anastasia Barbieri

On first you might mistake Anatasia Barbieri for movie star from the seventies; natural beauty with brown, silky hair below the shoulder, perfect face contours and Annie Hall meets Lauren Hutton in Paris style. Though she could be a movie star, she is one of the Carine's girls; part of the enormously talented clique of infants which every month allure us with cognizable style on the French Vogue paper. Well, we all know that Vogue Paris paper smells different and that Carine girls are all very pretty. Barbieri also, with the superb eye for the fashion. In the past years she had built envious portfolio as stylist; she is Vogue Paris mode editor also as fashion editor-in-chief in Vogue Hommes International. She contributes in Vogue Nippon, Korean and German Vogue, V Magazine, Harper's Baazar, Ten and many others...back in the days she also did styling work for Dutch Magazine.You must had spotted some of the admirable editorials she styled in (thank you Lord) politically incorrect Paris Vogue. No matter if she is dressing up the Femme Fatale or Countryside Girl they both have a dose of strong, sophisticated sexiness and mysterious romance. While even most flaring outfits have a frail and loose vibe (see Cherchez La Femme Diane K,The Princess Diary, Furry Friend or White Russian in Vogue Nippon, 30 avenue de Montaigne) in styling men editorials she plays with macho on some new level (see Rose Foudre in Vogue Hommes International).

 In fact you can feel how both masculine and feminine are influence on each other in her work.

Besides editorial work, she does consultancy for many fashion house and styles ad campaigns (for Alessandro Dell'Acqua, Givenchy, D&G, Costume National, Kenzo, Cacharel).

Taking part in LENY Project by Mariela Gamboa and with work on NOIR, Danish fashion clothing line with conscience as consulting stylist along with photographer Marc Hom, proves that Anastasia except talent has awareness and sense. And her style: that's a subject for itself. And subject spotted by many street style blogs like Garance or Sartorialist. She seems to adore suits with made to measure glance but she stays very casual. Like in her work she balances items like very power pantsuit or even formal three-piece suit in very fragile , feminine way. Sometimes she breaks masculinity with elegant heels or ballet pumps, blouse or silk scarf. And sometimes is just her lovely face and hair.

Except adorned by street style snappers- she and Giovanna Battaglia look so good together on common photos- maybe cause Barbieri is raised in Italy (she was born in Croatia), recently Meredith Melling Burke in Vogue.com Most Wanted made a feature about Anastasia's tailored menswear look. Oh Boy. Let's say if somebody is supposed to learn us how to wear tuxedo I am very glad that person is Anastasia.
