LOOKBOOK GIRL LOVES PANTS & SKIRTS

Every new season, the thing we are more excited to see than clothes from our favorite labels are lookbooks or campaign ads from same. Lot of designers behind are really trying to narrate their stories, especially small clothing lines are ones that bring a lot of creativity to present their novelties. And they should, because all of us sometimes judge a book by its cover. And books this fall are telling interesting stories. That and the lack of space to present each line separately, inspired me to create my own imaginary description about girls which designers or shops have presented in their lookbooks. Since lot of them are paying attention this year to bottoms, this time misslikey uncovered girl that is wearing pants, shorts or skirt.

Keller girl is a schoolgirl. She loves books but also Saturday. She is practical, simple, lovely with very refined taste.
APC girl is a owner of small vintage shop. She loves red wine and long walks.
Rika girl is cool, confident and hip but dreamy. She feels best when she attends her drama classes.
To be adored girl is bohemian. Real, non phony. She loves art and old theaters. She is actually in love with love.
Girl from Asos shop this time is curator. In free time she is muse.
Carin Wester girl is big aesthete. She cares a lot for shape. Yes, she gets a first row at fashion shows very often but its not that she is going to hyperventilate about that.
Built by Wendy girl is a nature lover. She plays in garage band, listens to Nick Cave and eats dark chocolate.
Agnes B girl is a true intellectual. She loves menswear and anthropology. She has a cat.

*NOTE misslikey doesn't believe in stereotypes

What would you say about them?

Fashion baby wears pink pants

10 am in motel.
She opens her eyes and stares.
Takes a shower, packs her stuff and cleans up the place.
Her hair is a mess, but could she care any less.
She grabs her acid pink pants from the chair.
11 am
Sun is in the sky. she needs a cigarette pack.
She goes to the gas station and to the nearest place.
Could I get a cup of coffee?, she asks.
Well miss we serve only Newspapers, caffeine and the snacks, old waiter tells.
12 am
As she says goodbye, from the bar he asks:
What has brought you here my dear?
I am a vagabond, she says.
“Road trip is a hell of a place for a girl with so many bags”

Fashion baby is a vagabond.
And she has very beautiful mind.

3 am
She opens her eyes and stares. Turns the light on to dress.
This ain’t a motel, she states. Just good old place and brand new pink pants on the chair.

Fashion baby is a dreamer.
And she has very beautiful mind.

p.s. this is funny fashion poem I wrote yesterday. And it's about my crush on pink jeans lately. Jeans included in collage are Silence & Noise skinny jeans from Urban Outfitters, ankle acid pink jeans from Insight Denim, Topshop knee shorts and CTRL acid red jeans.

Fall pants

It is time to re-vivre le pants! We usually forget about them, but with jeans they make essentials for our daily wardrobe. Though today we had little moved away from classic tailored suits, still we need to stay dressed up despite how nonchalant we are. Don’t know how you feel, but loungewear lately makes my heart beat; that’s probably consequence of feshly ended summer and cruel dismissing of restless clothing. Since Girl's gotta have one decent pair of fall pants that are tailored but still casual, yet it’s not time for full combination of wool and tweed, I did little sneak and peek into windows of our favorite shops to find our uniform pants. I’ve chosen grey for the essential pants, since that’s our existent fall basic color that with white and black creates in-a-minute-chic. Grey pants with right cut can make a girl nonchalantly polished up even when she is feeling for the day on the low – with sneakers or ballerina flops. Add tiny leather jacket you’ll be adjusting to throng in manner of city chic.

Acne pants I found on net-a-porter with slightly cigarette cut and high waist are still enough boyish. Very French and very wearable in improved Annie Hall manner.
Someone finally made an idea about connecting the trousers with sweatpants. When I saw cashmere pants from Lucien Pellat-Finet in Elle US July issue my heart said; Ahh these were the pants from your dream last week when you were wearing basic white tee. Amazing pair from oaknyc are casual but with little glance of 70s lady clothes.
For the traditionalist’s visions or for the ones that are working girls with too many meetings to attend perfect are this Chloe ankle length pants from otteny Skinny, grey and looking light, able to pair in a minute for informal tuxedo look.

Cutting, ripping...hey where are my scissors?

Okay I promise I’ll stop with cutting after this. But just one more time. Please. Okay at least we are without bleacher this time. Seriously should I turn misslikey into “misslikey home made” or “misslikey do it by yourself”? It is funny how this cropped, ripped or bleached trends started. Seems that you just need to be creative. I am really laughing now because it will sound insane but do really designers want to sell their clothes? Is awareness of recession causing developing of the brands? Even Mr. Cavalli got mad at Alex the great Wang and Balmain's Christopher Decarnin so Italian started to rip pants on models. Oh Gosh I am really making a conspiracy theory here; well don't torture your smart heads with that, rather take scissors into the hand. So to make your vertical fringes what will you cut; leggings (pants) or dress?
1.Dress case;

Amber Valetta in Vogue Italia and Alexander Wang fall 09 ripped skeleton white dress
If you are not good with scissors you'll find attractive this dress from Bona Drag for very attractive 140$. Lovely knotted with striped tube underneath it looks a bit skeleton, don't you think?

2.Leggings/pants case
Inpiration; Rumi from FashionToast..Rumi already wore her American Apparel ripped leggings in 2008. Rumi Neely is really a muse. We love Rumi. And we love Erin Wasson

Not good with scissors? Well wait for Wang's fall collection to come in stores or go for ripped leggings from Singer22

p.s. This was another edgy post. Stop. I'm stuck lately. Stop
p.i.s.s. Since we need from time to time a little calm fashion next time I am taking you to one magic spot. So for little divines check on misslikey for a few days. Meanwhile my kitty kats do the cuty cut!
