Playful, Pretty and Print

After all those rains we thought that it might never come to us, but Miss Summer had decided that will slowly and elusively sneak into our lives. To have a spirit ready for a little summer playing, we are going to fight those irritating heat waves with friendly water and pleasant frozen drinks.
For those moments of play, many of us  will become joyful with the help of charming prints this year. What you wear reflects on how you feel, smart people used to say and this season thanks to all those magnificent folks that are designing and making our clothes, we finally have from plenty to pick. As most appealing of the swimwear offered this season I choose dear Lauren Moffatt that last few years became synonym for the playful and pretty swimwear. Her summer 2013 collection is mind-blowing and the one-piece in the heart print is already a huge star. We must not forget our dear Orla Kiely and one-piece in her genius Poolside print. As well, be close to good old gingham. The cutest little top/corset from Steven Alan would be perfect together with good old A-line denim skirt. After all the playing in the sand, in this combination you will be ready for all those see sighting sunsets.
So, are we ready for the joys that Miss Summer will bring this year?! Oh, oui!

farewell, summer days

Those were the days when we soaked our feet in salt to refresh our spirits and clear our minds. Our little brains were tired of a talk and thought of what we humans really are. We were drinking sweet lemonade out of the finest crystal we had. With picking the fresh mint that brought a flavor of innocence in our pretty ways, at least one our hand used to be painted brown. At times we were feeling frisky and young, we would add a something stronger to spice up the evenings of our moment in time.
We climbed all the trees we saw in hope to be closer to the sky above. Or maybe we were catching with teacups in our hands that vividness of life. Alas, from the day we sensed the first ray of light on our naked skin, the secret things were hiding out there, never ready to unveil the beauty that runs in front of our eyes. Maybe if we could see everything hidden, life would be just a veil of blues that predictably hugs us from time to time.
We watched the little flying creatures and their freedom flights. That gave us idea that only little butterflies are able to talk language that beauty knows. They whispered to flower every time you showed your bright smile. And with summer sun that is about to vanish like a stain of the grass from our jeans, they will stop carrying secrets around. You realize that some things happen just to become the blank page in a diary of life.
When you see that august slowly packs its suitcase of joy, you know he is a good fellow with very kind heart. Secret creatures from the wood that surround us, told me that once. In a dresses that petals coloured and with lace inserts that only fairies know to make, they will be your friend and whisper you sweet words of comfort at the end of the summer day. So, you don’t need to be surprised with all the sudden light. Their dresses shine bright and their faces glow like a rose after a rainy day. Did you know that on the farewell of summer, you could see them if you want. When the fog comes, if you follow the little steps in the grass, you will see they are wearing lace gloves. They braid tenderly your horses’ manes during the nights. With the last of their rhyme, once again they will wash away memories of blues and bring a smile for the new pretty times. Is there anything to do, then to close the chapter of your velvet book, till the next sunny dawn comes.

Photos misslikey;  Roses in collage are prints by famous Belgian botanical artist  Pierre-Joseph Redouté, who was official court artist of Queen Marie Antoinette.

lace'n'beach

We loved the way lingerie or sleepwear was coming out of our closets, so the most chic girls in past seasons were looking like they haven't changed clothes. So, it’s not at least unusual that the trend of running out from the bed to the street would apply to beachwear, sooner or later. Lilibon is New York City based swimwear brand, inspired by lingerie from our dream world. That dream world continues to be visible through the day with beauties figured out by designer Emilie Bon. Riviera’s born Bon and stepdaughter of famous fashion photographer Peter Lindbergh, before her own label worked for floral designer Christian Tortu, as buyer for Calypso St. Barth and owned small boutique in the South of France. Lilibon label is inspired by her idyllic childhood spent hunting for sand dollars on Bahamas.
This year collection of lace swimsuits is pure magic; feminine 40's inspired cuts, lace frills, sometimes embroidered with satin ribbons, and all in very delicate colors (lavender tone is so beautiful). Models Coco and Nouch are one-piece swimsuits while Fanny and Lola are bikinis (triangle and bandeau). This collection is most of femininity we’ve brought to beach lately, so with full right can be evaluated as imaginative and fanciful.
I have always loved lingerie and I aim to bring the same sense of style and unashamed femininity to women’s resort wear.” says Emilie. We say bravo to Lilibon and this celebration of femininity.

floral'n'beach: Window Shop

If last summer we haven’t realized the beauty of floral bikini, this year we might spend full beach time in floral garden. Floral swimsuits can be gentle and sexy in the same time, depending on the way you wearing them. So for those caught in the romance craving of the season are more pale patterns, and for those still attached to edginess are brighter flowers.
For large range of floral swimsuits, it's right to give a blessing to French label Bronzette. All of the liberty prints, they used in collection are very splendid and romantic. It is not easy to choose between the models; Kate(triangle bikini), Mathilde(bandeau) and Rose (bit more feminine triangle) or prints (delicate portofino and bit brighter saint-tropez. Oh if we could have all of them. Stores that carry Bronzette bikinis are La Nouvelle Vague and Clickini.(all the bikinis and prices featured here are from La Nouvelle Vague)
From La Novuelle Vague comes also Guia la Bruna’s swimwear line. Lingerie and swimwear from young Italian designer provide us most romantic swimsuits, with all that joyful vibe of ruffles, bows and again Liberty prints. Let’s say that’s completely nothing wrong with the childhood vibe, cause anyway the most beautiful bikinis are those we wore exactly during our childhood. Watch out that in models like Precious Love, Dreamy Girl, Fruity Diva or Magic Swan, you don’t overdo with playing in sand.

Endless Summer or Vintage summer?

With slow month of august sunshine and summer is soon forgotten.. It was short and sweet and if you were working all year, there were some of great expectations for your vacation that on the end turned better or even worse .Even the end means returning to our habitats, cities, throng and joy about thinking of our new pieces of clothes for fall, there is a certain blues that shades these last days. Your summer party mood is slowly fading with all the gold and glitter of last sun rays. You will feel better in striped yellow dress than in edgy skirt and more likely to spend day on the beach with the book than with some booze. This are the summer days Nina Simone is singing about in Summertime. If you ever enjoyed those moments you will know what I am burbling about, and you will understand how great life can be with the illustration of your lazy chic-nes in sunset, looking like just popped out from Polaroid photo from 60 ties or 70 ties. Wear vintage on the sun, mix it with pastel colors, mix stripes with flowers, wear old converse on innocent babydolls and floral dresses.

rock'n'beach

Are you still preparing for your summer days? Well sometimes we know that we need to have summer essentials and classics like stripes or raffia sandals or espadrillas or Panama hat but yet what we gonna wear when we are in our rock mood. You know sometimes that there are the days we don’t want to look on the beach like sunset illustration on vintage t-shirt. Those days when our hair is not in mignon but wavy and when we roll The Rolling Stones on repeat on our Ipods. What will we wear in those days?
Bathing suit is but also it doesn’t have to be key item of your swimwear. Paying attention on details can be equally creative way to create image for your rock mood.
Why wouldn’t you have your nails or lips in matte florescent orange color? Why to keep your chains off the sun when you can be glossy on the sun? Girls from LITTER SF that I spotted through lelamoda are really one chic mess when it comes to chains. Their jewels on the legs, shoulders or attached on swimsuit will make a glamorous groupie out of you in a second.
Tank tee top you will roll over your Rolling Stone mood has to be bit trashy chic or little in manner of Lenny Kravitz. Or get one of that Tank top that Alex Wang is creating for our mannequin mood. Or try with metallic detail shorts like Dries Van Noten had in their summer collection but if you cannot get that, wear silky pajama shorts on tough tee or printed tank top. Or simply just use your old Guns’n Roses tee like a sundress. You will be adorable. Pay attention on your hair in this summer days, for French wavy but silky hair make sure you use one of those hair sprays with UV protection and use a shampoo for the frequent use. Mine favorite is Vichy Dercos for cheveux normaux á sece. Tres jolie, ain’t?
