back to school dress

Now that leaves will soon begin to fall, in the upcoming days when our nudity will be covered with clothes, we are going to replace our canvas totes with leather satchels, light shoes with those made of heavier material and all those tiny high-waisted shorts with trousers. This transition from our ice-cream-looking clothes to those serious autumnal pieces can be horrible and frustrating sometimes.
Girls that wear dresses eventually have to put on the trousers from time to time, but just for a while we are going to put all those plaid and denim trousers in delay. The reason for that is this check dress in popular Angel cut coming from lovely The Whitepepper, which is perfect for beginning of our school days. Wearing this preppy check-patterned fabric we will be taken seriously in a cool way, while smock shape and purple checks will work for our charm and loveliness.
At the end, after our serious hours, we all end up on Francoise Hardy and sweet delights.

Button-Cuff Angel Dress Check, THE WHITEPEPPER, £55.00
Good advice: When ordering Angel dress, be careful with sizes. Last time I ordered Angel dress in M
and it was too huge. For example, if you wear between S and M always order S.

Playful, Pretty and Print

After all those rains we thought that it might never come to us, but Miss Summer had decided that will slowly and elusively sneak into our lives. To have a spirit ready for a little summer playing, we are going to fight those irritating heat waves with friendly water and pleasant frozen drinks.
For those moments of play, many of us  will become joyful with the help of charming prints this year. What you wear reflects on how you feel, smart people used to say and this season thanks to all those magnificent folks that are designing and making our clothes, we finally have from plenty to pick. As most appealing of the swimwear offered this season I choose dear Lauren Moffatt that last few years became synonym for the playful and pretty swimwear. Her summer 2013 collection is mind-blowing and the one-piece in the heart print is already a huge star. We must not forget our dear Orla Kiely and one-piece in her genius Poolside print. As well, be close to good old gingham. The cutest little top/corset from Steven Alan would be perfect together with good old A-line denim skirt. After all the playing in the sand, in this combination you will be ready for all those see sighting sunsets.
So, are we ready for the joys that Miss Summer will bring this year?! Oh, oui!

Label crush: Sally Scott

Autumn Winter 2012  from Sally Scott
When I saw this morning the post on amazing Drifter & the Gypsy featuring one of the past collections of Sally Scott, I was wondering how come I've never heard of it and I just had to found out who is this Sally Scott. I was assured it’s some new French label, but Sally Scott is label of Japanese clothing and textile designer Akira Minagawa who is well known for his clothing line Mina Perhonen. Sally is imaginary girl dressed up in perfect charming layered ensembles that are influenced by Nouvelle Vague. Except pieces look extremely well tailored, what made me to fall in love with Sally Scott are all the pretty prints and patterns that Minagawa is designing himself. And when the words of portrayal are chic librarians, 1960s new wave and romantic countryside girls, we are ready to fly to another continent.
Konnichiwa Sally Scott! (Unfortunately, there's no stockist in Europe or USA. *cry*)

Christmas carol

The streets and trees are sparkling silver lights, it’s the snow falling outside. Like a soap bubbles covers the house. Music plays from hidden clouds. Bells ringing all the time. Glittering stars falling from the sky. Carefree and full of love people holding hands, while all over the planet is translucent magic floating in the air.
On the 358th day of the year, during the night one chubby man is gonna sneak around your house. Be careful and don’t light fire. Chimney has to be clean and tide. He will look around and sprinkle magic dust around the house, then with a sound he will eat milk and cookies or cherry pie. When you wake up hearing something in dark you will see the falling star. That’s Santa in the sky riding his sleigh.
Santa’s little helpers have been working all the time. Petite treasures they make with lot of love. You will vaguely wander on the streets around with hot chocolate in a to-go cup. Buying of presents is wonderful moment of time. If you are refugee from icy wintertime you will stay home and order petite artworks online.

Pursuit of prints

Did you notice how this year stores have been more equipped with printed garments than before. From flowers, stripes, hearts, stars, moons and kitty kats, seems that all kind of prints lately are in style. Not to forget the ethnic, tribal or geometric ones. When I just think about the period when I was one of all-wrapped up-in gray girls. That must have been very boring time of my life because to not print is very passé.
August may not be exact time for summer shopping side of sales, but always pops out something inevitable. This time are prints that although bought as summer pieces, could become style builders of fall closet.

dress See by Chloe dress is just perfect example; silk fabric, interesting star print and ¾ sleeves make this dress perfect for summer evenings on nude legs that later could be easily replaced with black tights and flats for daily elegance. Also if you spot somewhere silk blue dress from Lewis summer collection, don’t leave it to someone else. That would be a sin.
jacket Little jacket in oriental or floral print is my very style candy of the season but not exactly the item you will find in shops unless they are selling vintage. Blogger Typhanie is irresistible in combination of little floral blazer with shorts. As a matter of fact all the prints you will see on her blog are worn in very irresistible way (via nast.fr)
If jacket is not so safe solution for you, go for printed cardigan or kimono like this on the picture from topshop and wear it over top of different print (see Rachel Comey ss10)
shorts or pants From tribal, floral, leopard or other printed pants that you have in your closet or thinking about getting one, instead with boots, wear them in very ladylike manner.(topshop shorts would be perfect with black tights and a blazer in fall)
