London Fashion Week Spring 2013

What happens in London, possible is just there, because there’s no order in this Big Bang explosion of creativity. Shows in London are like a huge patchwork made of thousand small pieces and they actually all look good together. This year in London, designers for spring of 2013 RTW presented us new game of trend; different colors or prints and different fabrics; all on one garment. And we enjoyed more than ever their visions of romantically science fiction with occasional travels to past. Also, PVC never looked this good. Here are misslikey’s favourite moments and collections.

Simone Rocha, ex Fashion East-er and daughter of John Rocha. If London was missing Peter Jensen (who was showcasing Spring 2013 at Copenhagen Fashion Week), it found a creatively cool and fashion forward substitute in Simone. Simone Rocha spring 2013 catwalk was consisted of everything hot right now; peplum, metallic, leather, lace, PVC-esque sheer, Codie Young, halo-like headdresses, beautiful shoes. And with front row to die for; Leith Clark, Alexa Chung and Laura Bailey.
Meadham Kirchhoff duo continues with exploring sweet ways of living of our favorite queen, Marie Antoinette. Sometimes messy-looking firework of color, every detail is carefully picked; from setting of the catwalk, the top bow on hat to nail embellishment (this time sparkly). This carrousel of colours and dresses that look like cupcakes, won’t be forgotten that soon, and garments will be base for lot of independently oriented editorials during next season.
Kinder Aggugini’s Sally goes fishing. If I need to make a favourite from the favourites, Kinder’s sweet summer of fisherman would be mine. Show was opened with sounds of Somewhere beyond the sea but the girl who went fishing experienced the different transforms of moods which found the great back up in music remixes (from Biggie’s Nasty to Coldplay). Kinder is familiar with the fact that pinafores, dungarees, skirts and shorts can be a great basic of the summer wardrobe; just these from KA weren’t basics but statement pieces with adorable prints of sea creatures. Girl that lives on sweet side of fashion, for promising summer now just needs to book a sweet cottage somewhere beside the river.
And she doesn’t need to create stories afterward, because prints on her clothes already made one. And with printed rain cloak, we will just wish for the rain next summer. Special were also shoes, hand painted t bar sandals and clogs from adorable brand Swedish Hasbeens
Erdem Beloved Mr. Moralioglu, at first worried me with his flirting with python so I assumed he got bored with flowers. But sixth look allayed my fears. As a Print-king of London, he always goes further than just a print. 1950s inspired silhouettes in sci-fi mood, besides just prints, carried lot of lace inserts and floral appliqués. And seems that Erdem, just has crush on lace gloves and Anais Pouliot. And we love that. With printed shoes and Victorian ruffled chokers he left us breathless. This is what flowers from garden of Mr. M are doing to girls; not just that we adore them, but we wonder where those flowers with appearance of candies grow.
Clements Ribeiro With Francoise Hardy on soundtrack, Clements presented sweet summer, which reminded of Moonrise Kingdom. Contrasting shiny appliqués on cardigans, collars, jackets and dresses. Of course. Plastic jelly sandals? Oh yes!
Margaret Howell If New York has someone artistically clean but still carefree and cool like Steven Alan, London has Margaret Howell. Simple pinafores, dungarees, shirts worn as dresses and berets. Extraordinary.
Giles Deacon In the mix of everything designer could possibly mix, there wasn’t a single thing that looked as it doesn’t belong on the runaway. So it was 42 ensembles of pure talent and creativity. It was artist Allen Jones, which was Deacon’s inspiration on his ways from pop to punk to graphic. And wavy hair and pink matte lipstick are all we need in summer days.
Roksanda Ilincic Amish-esque simple ensembles were adorned with collars (pierrot or narrow) and giant baker-boy caps this time at Roksanda Ilincic. Fabulous enough for traveling around the world or for art gallery. Roksanda Ilincic x Aldo Shoes were refined addition to garments.
Mulberry In Emma Hill’s garden everything is special; there are gnomes, flowers arrangements, rainbow cake, Alexa Chung, Del Rey and Kate Moss. 1970s English garden, from mustard (is there any summer in London, anyway) to vintage green and sorbet-like colours moves slowly to graciousness and simplicity of black. Impressive were; leather, brocade, retro inspired prints, cloaks, coats and small jackets embellished with buttons in shape of flowers. Moment to remember; Gillian Matthew as modern chick channeling golden age of Halston-inspired orange glamour.

More moments to remember...

John Rocha - blossoms of silk in all the prettiest colors one could imagine.
Temperley London- Alice was in wonderland of sheer walking on Charlotte Olympia heels.
Holly Fulton took London on art deco trip to California, playing with separates, sometimes matching, sometimes mixing prints.
Christopher Kane wonderful DIYs. Last time it was flower, this year we will do same with beading, lace strips and all the shiny stuff.
Pringle of Scotland bejeweled garments, twin sets and old-school sports glamour
Twenty8Twelwe 60s mod mixed with athletic aesthetics
Eudon Choi's sweet ways of futuristic sixties mod. Definetely the one to keep an eye on.

I love how you take the time to create such beautiful collages. They are stunning! I quite like the T-strap trend, and I must say, London Fashion Week has to have been my favorite so far.
