Charlotte's Christmas

Charlotte Dellal, one of the world’s favorite shoemakers, has already won our hearts with her iconic Dolly shoes with gold platform and Kitty flats that turned hundreds of girls into a cat lovers. Charlotte’s factory never had a trouble with originality, so this time they decided to fashionably accessorize holiday season with the Christmas collection. Except that these festive pieces possess that signature old-Hollywood vibe of the label, they promise to reveal the fun side of its wearer. Classics are embellished with little bit of holiday joy; so Kitty flats are wrapped in glitter and red Dolly shoes are embellished with ankle straps encrusted with gold bells. And those Pandora clutches with velvet inserts in three different colors are just perfect addition for holiday parties. Are you ready for the dance floor?

The Magnificent World of TT

The story of TT label begins in 2010, unintentionally, like the most fascinating stories usually do start. When in one gloomy December day, designer Tanja Topolovec sent one of her designs to competition held by one Croatian online magazine, she didn’t expect that it would cause such a sensation like it did or receive great critics. This has urged for creating of her own labour of love, TT, where she could combine her past and current interests in visual art with her vision of fashion. Therefore, TT accessory line is the fusion of different fields where designer is exploring her talents, such as multimedia, sculpture or textile design. As perfectionist, designer’s eternal statement is to demand the multi-purpose of designs, and its different dimensions. So, it’s not just about the garment, hat or necklace and its determined form. The story of TT is the story of experiment atypical from ordinary fashion story that has just interest in wearable. It’s the story of sleepless nights and requirements to go beyond the personal limits and established rules in designing. It’s also the story of surprises, since it usually begins on vague mornings on flea markets where designer is wandering for treasure pieces that are enough flawless to turn into fait d’art. It’s the story where additional efforts to supply materials that will fit into philosophy of fair and guilt-free fashion, is far away from burden. It’s the story of uncountable hours spent in applying feathers, furs or embroidering hundreds of beads. It’s the story where magic creates reality from vision.

**TT Fall Winter 2012/13 collection brings the enchanting tales of recycled fur, leather and beads transformed into unique headdresses. These walking leather sculptures have great accent on detail, whether is fur trimming or beading or it’s playing with leather patches. Lavish but with edge, each piece of headwear is made with special care and patience with intention for its wearer to get lost even for a minute to bedazzled world where magic exists and unicorns, foxes, owls, deer and other wild creatures have their secret ceremonials.

sweet alphabet craze

When I spotted Robert Ryan’s  paper-cuts on the pages of Vogue back in the days, I immediately was bedazzled with these magical stories of paper. London-based contemporary artist is well known for his exceptional combination of illustration, sweet poetry and paper cuts. Because of his great skills with paper, you can hardly believe these are actually paper cuts. Except embellishing of our favourite magazines, such as Vogue, Amelia and many others or covers of smart words on our shelves, over the years, he had brought his unique and magical charm to our homes, offices and closets. These days there is another collaboration coming out of the Rob Ryan’s charming factory, and this time with Alphabet Bags. It’s nothing unusual for misslikey to spend a day examining Rob's pretty creations, but since the day she saw these sweet letter totes, somehow she’s feeling a huge craze for an alphabet. Just like she is learning letters again.

Chic details; pullover, Alice band and compass

Moved on from 80’s suburban housewife that wears pullover on jeans to shop in the supermarket, Givenchy with this purple mohair  pullover embellished with floral wreath had approached to the college kid that reads lot of classics, plays an instrument (piano) and is nature lover. Real star of this season. Bit oversized, pullover makes silhouette casual and is really perfect partner for autumn winter season; combined with skirts and jeans or over the dresses and blouses with interesting details on collar. Little plastic Alice band is underestimated lately as more we prank ourselves with feathers, flowers or bows. Stylist Bay Garnett showed in editorial Autumn Sonata for Vogue UK full beauty of it. And if rural stands for unsophisticated in this story becomes fully sophisticated. Simple as it is. As a quirky detail for embellishment in these windy times, I would choose compass. This one from the photo is part of The Seafarer collection from Australian jewelry label One Luv, which pays tribute to adventurous Treasure Island (Robert Louis Stevenson).
Designer Dina Ochwada has ensured that girls are looking for hidden treasures wearing a real treasure around their necks.

NOTE: Also kind Dina from One Luv, gives the readers of misslikey 15% off the entire collection until 30th November this year. So if you wish to purchase something from One Luv after shopping, click on 'Shopping Cart' (top right hand corner), then click on 'Apply Discount Code' and enter code 'LUVACC'

Holiday Accessories Report

These days are so cold that for the many of us is even hard to breathe. When on the outside is below zero, more alluring seems to enroll on the sofa with hot chocolate than suffer from chilblains.
That is my opinion regarding the cold.

Oh, stop being silly, you are not a teddy bear and you cannot stay covered in blanket forever. At some point you will have to leave the house.
These are my self-affirmation statements.

And I will replace a book and a movie for a good old party. And parties in December are the best. Or at least they used to be. People seem kind of carefree during this particular month. And for december parties I love to dress up. A bit more than usual. And longer. Yes that certainly. And the certainly is that this makes people around me impatient. Where did all the improvidence go?
That is how I make people nervous.

After I finish carefully picking of the empress’s new-old clothes, I consider about details. When the clothes and decorations are assembled, I make myself a bubble bath. After the bubbles sink me and my fingers are enough wrinkled I cover myself in housecoat. When I turn on a lovely chanson on the radio, I make me a nice drink and lit myself a cigarette. When I am not dancing I am doing manicure and thinking how life is simply wonderful
That is what I like to do.
And these are petite decorations that I like:

Jeffrey Campbell Lita boots in tapestry pattern, Marc Jacobs metallic Mary Janes, YSL suede green court shoes, Opening Ceremony par Robert Clergerie velvet crisscross heels

Rika Liv bag, vintage Chanel quilted bag

Eugenia Kim Honey hat with feather trim, Monki Robyn black hat

vintage Chanel earrings, Rebel Rebel heart bracelet from Different collection, Daydream Nation fur and feather collar, Gemma Lister velvet collar

Me & my backpack

Backpacker is a person that is usually adventurous, spontaneous, brave and with the free spirit. Can it be that in every one of us lies a petite backpacker? Possibly the young Muccia Prada had a vagabond spirit back in the early 80s when she came to idea to create a backpack from a nylon fabric that her grandfather’s company was using to cover large suitcases for overseas traveling. By the mid 90s everyone was wearing backpack, and those with few hundred spare dollars in their pocket had a triangle Prada sign on it. Not only the Prada girls were popular, but also the voyagers with Chanel backpacks. Chanel heroines were not just on the streets or in offices but also in the books.
These days, backpacks are becoming popular again. Finally, different kinds of stores are offering rucksacks that don’t look any more like hitchhiking equipment. Military style is moral just when it comes to fashion so I find those influenced with it very delightful. Same feelings I have towards tapestry or ethnic backpacks. But my heart beats faster for vintage iconic backpacks. So Chanel Suede backpack in brown would immediately make a bohemian princess out of me, and one in black suede a ballet dancer, even if I am not on personal with jeté.

Surely it's silly to think that with one of these vintage backpacks you would be able to travel the world in 80’s days but they give this idea of adventurous nature.Me & my backpack means me more spontaneous and nonchalant. Also means more often excursions to library because it’s very practical and can hold more books than regular purse. It also doubles the chances that I won’t skip my yoga classes, or I’ll take a walk around the pretty lake that is just 5 minutes from my house. If nothing, doubles my chances for more often casual but chic weekends.

chic details: suede boots in summer

Storing of the winter clothes can sometimes become a problem. Many of us, from all of those clothes even don’t know to distinguish what is summer or winter item. Certainly that are lot of items that you cannot wear in the heat, like coats or wool sweaters, so of course there is need to store them and make a room for summer and some transitional items. Surely is that the cardigans and not so thick jackets could serve in the chilly summer evenings. And when all the summer sandals install on the shelves, get the bag where you will put some of the winter\fall footwear you can wear in summer, and keep it available. Many of us this year will keep oxfords in the summer wardrobe, but if you have suede boots don’t forget to keep them close.

Probably you won’t wear them in the middle of the day if it’s too hot, but for the summer nights or festivals they can be perfect details with many summer items. Suede boots and little white summer dress is already a classic. Same classic Phillip Lim used to present resort collection so suede boots except with dresses were also paired with jumpsuits and 70s inspired cropped bell-bottoms. Flat suede boots are also favorite footwear item for actress and our new fashion darling Isabel Lucas. She wears them on everything; from white or floral dresses to shorts. And Isabel, she is definitely doing the right thing.

Chic details; back to school

Remember the school? Were you one of those that were singing rebelliously "Teacher leave the kids alone in front", or you were with utterly devoted pupil team? Even if you were just a scholar full of joy, you must had one of those want to be all grown up moments. And now that you are all grown up, you still wearing similar items once you were wearing in benches? Hated or beloved, you must admit Mrs. School left very impact on who you are and maybe what you wear today. Do you ask yourself sometimes who would be the one that is nostalgic in the story of stylish education; us or the designers? For this fall, many of them announced comeback in benches; from Philip Lim, Generra, Peter Jensen, Proenza Schouler, Brian Reyes, Cynthia Steffe to Boy by Band of Outsiders. All those folks are crazy about the girl that wears toggle jackets, pleated skirts, vests, dresses with peter pan collars, all the lace-up footwear (from oxfords to booties), visible socks or the one up to the knee. If you are fan, no matter if you choose to be perhaps charming Lolita or Preppy out of college, you’ll feel satisfied in the fall with shops overwhelmed with new glance preppy items. In mean time, while we waiting, we could use some of the Nouveau school tips for the warm days. Who even said that we want to go on school vacations?

No 1 Nouveau school detail; Barrette in the hair

Yes, visible pin and there’s no much of philosophy about it, wear it just the way your mum once wanted for you to wear it. Just keep your hair sleek and tidy. If you have a bob or the shoulder length, look upon Margot Tenenbaum. If you have a long or short hair, find some inspiration from Phillip Lim spring runaway. Hairstylist Odile Gilbert made a side part and wrapped hair in old school side-chignon. She used two red barrettes, on the front and on the back above the chignon. Red color of pin is ideal charming match for spring pastels.

No2 Nouveau school detail; brown satchel
Don’t tell me you are not head over heels for satchels this season. Perfect version of satchel, for spring and plenty of summer dresses and floral prints would be in brown or tan. If you are in lack off around €1000, forget about Mullbery’s Alexa or Proenza’s PS1 and go for the vintage. Make a little flea market trip or find something fits you on Etsy. Just make sure that if has handle has a large shoulder strap so it can easily transform to shoulder bag. And sometimes can be just nonchalant oversized clutch .

Chic details; fuchsia lips & little socks

Details matter; an accent on something can improve or impair your outfit. Thought I don't believe too much in impairs when one has the attitude, story of the dressing or know who he/she is. Everything is in the feeling when it comes to clothing. No feeling- No flavour like in many things in life. This month adorable inspirations and lifters for this charming beginning of the summer are fuchsia lips and small socks on shoes.
Fuchsia lipstick
Indeed is that lipstick can be lifter of outfit. I like to keep things plain with bright colors- for an example plain white shirt dress in the spring just with fuchsia lips- any other accessory is needless (maybe a touch of gold jewelry).
We took the inspiration from the spring runaway where inspired by Bottega Veneta and Marc by Marc Jacobs. At Bottega make-up artist Pat McGrath with lips in matte fuchsia kept skin clean and the brows bleached which perfectly suited white headbands. Inspired by Madonna in Seeking Susan, Dick Page on Marc Jacobs painted lips in bright fuchsia and remain the face clean. Together with bow headband look is really cutism. When buying fuchsia lipstick, look rather for matte shades.

Little socks
Absolutely craziness is for hosiery this season. In the spring just are perfect little socks on flats with lively spring dresses. Fell in love with the Brooklyn- based clothing and shoe label Keller. Superb-talented Kelly Clark has a thing for a little socks this season and the previous one which is enchanting beyond. Images on the left are from Keller Spring summer 2010 Lookbook, see it complete here.
And perfect little cream socks I found at LA's finest hosiery shop Hansel from Basel. Aren't these just adorable little socks

Holiday Accessories Report

A Woman's Right to Shoes

Miu Miu shoes are always on our wish list and this nude pumps with ankle strap are already crush of one of our faves iconic girls, Giovanna Bataglia, while chic chocolate crush comes from Proenza Schouler. Who can resist Proenza’s this season wooden platforms? Wedges this year came back with style, and Acne wedges you can either love or hate. No matter of your feelings toward them they deserved IT status in blogosphere. This love it’s on with Alexa Chung. And Rumi Neeley.
Still there is nothing sophisticated and classic enough like good old Mary Jane's. Since are holidays right time to be glossy on right place, why wouldn’t Mary Jane be metallic(Rupert Sanderson)
Last crush is absolute lace up booties tidbit from Korean Pastar, in suede leather with gold buttons (Louboutin inspired)

Satchel is oversized clutch

Designer houses are bit short of oversized clutches so we decided to transform our satchels into the clutch (remember Tolula Adeyemi and her orange satchel/clutch love). Since we did that practical thing, we are ready to run from school (office) to party in-a-minute.
Obsessions are Boyy model Slash (discovered Boyy through Dream Sequins, one of the dearest fashionista bloggers), Proenza Schouler’s PS1 inspired by classical satchel, this year irresistible in purple suede. Same feelings are toward Farrow, oversized clutch in cognac rustic leather from Hayden-Harnett

Take a Bow

Long time we’ve been very obsessed with hair decorating. It’s probably because we want of our little heads to be very prominent. That’s why we had flowers, birds, LV bunny ears on them, and even mingling as a Minnie’s with mouse ears (just take a look at Chanel Iman in Vogue Germany editorial)
Current obsessions of evoking childhood memories, except our sweetest Tavi, are bow headbands. We heart Natasha Poly in Vogue Paris editorial (Givenchy headband) and the most stylish twins after Olsens, Caroline & Alice Rausch (photo via refinery29)
Will you choose big (Promod) or small (Juicy Couture) bow or you will attach one on the top of your chignon?

Sprinkle little stardust with the finest pieces of jewelry

Vintage medallions are obsession of art and fashion lovers, and we find irresistible those on the chains (Vintage Carnelian Cameo Locket Necklace)
We loved stars on tees now we put them on our ears (Kenneth Jay Lane's gold plated stud clip-on earrings). But still, we adore vintage earrings(Rachel Leigh’s Vintage Crystal Drops ). And lot of rings, especially when we wear them all together (oval peach Moonstone ring, Sheila Fajl ring with etched lettering, John Hardy 'Dot' ring) We don’t have to mention what we feel about nice, elegant detail bracelets in black and gold blend (Marni)

Last but not less important

Oh how we loved sheer tights with little polka dots that we saw on Balenciaga this fall (hat inspired lot of retail stores like oasis). If you are classic I strongly recommend Accessorize UK tights. Faux Fur scarves always mellow my heart; they take me back on Portobello Road in my imagination)- we picked black faux fur with satin bow from Debenhams and Eskell faux fur scarf from refinery29shop.
And gloves (Gaga, ooh la la) we don’t need to mention because we know how those beauties spice things up; Phillip Lim's short studded black leather gloves, ModCloth sheer gloves with black polka dots
